Hexie Speak – Say it with Hexies is a Design Workbook by Debbie Wendt for creating letters, numbers, punctuation, and borders from hexagon shapes. Pair it with Hex-a-Mini or use the template shapes included in the book. The book includes both upper case and lower case alphabet letters, numbers, and punctuation. Plus 18 horizontal and 15 vertical borders that pair well with personalizing your quilts. The workbook includes 11 patterns and ideas for creating name and word quilts.

The book includes template shapes but it would be much easier with the template. The Hex-a-Mini is an acrylic template for cutting half hexies, full hexies, triangles, diamonds, edge pieces, and partially pieced hexies. This new MINI is perfect for 2″ strips, charm squares, and scraps. The instructions booklet that is included with the tool shows how to cut the shapes listed and quilt layouts using these shapes. Additional layouts include a Monarch Butterfly, Traditional Butterfly, Race Car/Skateboard, and Pyramid Trees.
