REVERSIBLE BOWL COVERS

Providing beauty with function is always a good thing! The pattern provides instructions for you to customize the covers to your bowls so the fit is perfect every time. Not only do these keep the bugs away, but they also add a touch of elegance to a summer table!

The covers also work well for other uses. Why not make them to fit mason jars? Add a buttonhole on top for a straw and you have a great drink cover! Or use one to cover and store your sourdough starter while it is being fed.

TRUNK ORGANIZER

This trunk organizer features four separate compartments and two outside pockets, providing lots of storage. The sections and dividers are all sewn and bound individually so construction is a piece of cake. The outside handles provide ease of mobility when in use. When storing, collapse it, but it is so pretty, why not always leave it ready?

Planning a trip to the beach? What a great way to store and carry towels, floaties, sunscreen, repellant, sand toys…you get the picture. Once you start thinking outside of the box, you’ll want several and so will your friends!

Meet the new girls on the block:

Billie is a fun versatile pattern that has many options for coloring and layouts. It looks good scrappy or with coordinated fabrics. Make it with assorted 10″ squares, using the Creative Grids Stripology® Squared or the Creative Grids Stripology® XL ruler by GE Designs. Instructions for using regular rulers are included. The pattern comes with 6 different size options: crib, lap, twin, full, queen, and king.


The visually stunning Aria pattern creates a great illusion of curves with its geometric design. Even though it may look complicated, it is much easier to make than it looks using the Creative Grids Stripology® Squared or the Creative Grids Stripology® XL ruler by GE Designs. Instructions for using regular rulers are included. The quilt looks great as a 2 color quilt or multi-color, the options are endless. Yardage requirements for the blocks are given in fat quarter and 1/2 yard cuts. The pattern comes with 6 different size options: crib, lap, twin, full, queen, and king.

Beautiful Borders for Bags and Pillows uses quilt blocks to form decorative borders for drawstring bags or pillows, showcasing a panel print or large decorative print in the center. Samples shown with Wintery fabric with panel images in pillows for Christmas but pattern is appropriate for any season or occasion. Make four 20″ square drawstring bags or four 20″ square pillows plus two 23 x 26″ rectangular pillows from border prints. The center squares featured measure 11 1/2″ if you are using a focal fabric or other panel.

Whether you choose a light or dark background, this quilt is stunning! The Noble Fir quilt pattern makes a 51″ x 61″ Lap/Wall quilt for the winter holidays or nature enthusiast! This modern, striking quilt uses 2-1/2″ WOF strips to form the tree silhouettes and grand twinkling stars. Shown in her Winterly fabrics line, it would also look great in rustic natural hues for Fall. Two paper templates are included in the pattern for angles for tree sides and for making the stars in half rectangle triangles from the Jelly Roll strips.

Courtyard Lattice is a lovely way to feature panel fabrics from Winterly or use focal prints of your choice. Rectangles, half square triangles and nine patch blocks create a decorative framework to surround and connect the focal blocks. Makes a 65″ square quilt.


This quilt pattern provides instructions for two smaller “Ring Around the Posies” quilts, Wall size 32″ square or Lap/Medium 48″ square. Use fat eighths and/or fat quarters to make these floral rings with stitch and flip corners and patchwork piecing.

This quilt is a perfect introduction to a quilt-as-you-go quilt! Make two different sizes of log cabin blocks using the Creative Grids® Log Cabin Trim Tool Two by Jean Ann Wright. Quilt the individual blocks after they are constructed. Quilting small units at a time makes this the perfect introduction to machine quilting.

Wendy even walks you through the steps required to add sashings. It is oh sew easy to adjust the sizes to fit your needs.

What a wonderful idea! The embroidered blocks have words of encouragement as shown on the back cover. This is the perfect choice for a group quilt for a friend who is going through a tough time.

A group of caring friends can easily and quickly make this lovely, warm quilt for someone in need of love and support. Pattern pages are separate so it’s easy to divvy up! We all have different skill sets so the blocks can be chosen based on the individual skill sets of the contributors involved.

Kathy Schmitz has added several samplers to her series. The patterns include the hand embroidery design and stitch directions to complete a 8″ x 10″ finished piece. The patterns include 10 different embroidery stitches – perfect for an embroidery class! The 12 weight Valdani threads used are mostly variegated which adds that depth of color that we all love. And isn’t it nice not to have to change colors?

Checker now carries Penelope Handmade patterns. They all feature quilts designed around pre-cuts. Or if customers prefer, they can pick out their own fabrics. I love the samples are all shown in basic colors – a great way to sell tone on tones and solids.

All are fairly simple – beginner or intermediate beginner friendly. They would be great as a series of classes for beginners.
