Designed by Quilters Inspiration! There is a little bit of Irish in all of us so why not celebrate it? The leaves of these tumbling shamrocks are cut from a variety of 2-1/2in strips. The variety of prints adds depth and texture to the design by creating another design element. Adjust the size accordingly to make it fit your table or gift it to your favorite bloke as a throw! Either way, it will be treasured! The individual leaves are trimmed to 4 1/2″ and the entire shamrock are trimmed to 8 1/2″ so the Creative Grids® CGR4 and/or CGR8 are recommended.

Sunflowers Ala Lulu is a great introduction to a more artistic approach to quilting. This raw-edge appliqué project features layered squares to create the petals of the sunflowers. Add some leaves and bias tape stems and you can have this done in an afternoon! The Creative Grids® CGR9 is recommended.

Welcome the newest Cut Loose Press™ designer, Beth Weigt! She teaches classes and wanted a simple pattern with larger pieces that would showcase the Creative Grids® Kitty Corner Tool (CGRDH5). Happy Kitty’s Table Topper features twelve-inch blocks, and since there are only four of them, it truly can be finished in an afternoon.

The Kitty Cornered Blocks are combined with a center square and rectangles like a nine-patch. Then they are separated by sashings and a corner-post which create a secondary center design. Choose three coordinating fabrics and begin!

Abigail’s Window is simply stunning! The fabric choices make the quilt glow. The pattern includes directions for a table runner using just one of the panels. The quilt is a great throw size: 58″ x 78″, the table runner is 19″ x 58″.

Once again, the fabric choices for Glass Forest showcase the design to its best potential. This quilt measures 49″ x 73″. If you want it bigger, simply add another tree or more branches!

Strike a Chord uses 12 fat quarters for the blocks. The setting highlights each block design.

A Crabapple Hill Alphabet

In Meg’s words: Make a border of wildflowers for your favorite flowery room in the house! I have included the entire alphabet, so you can choose any word/words/names you’d like to personalize your garden banner, and eleven beautiful flowers to choose from. There’s just something about a pennant banner that makes me happy immediately… like a garden party is getting ready to begin! I’ve also made a couple to use as beautiful bookmarks that make me smile! What a sweet shower decoration – just make sure you have all of the letters you need!

Six pretty flowers! These can be made into brooches with the addition of a pin back, fobs or zipper pulls with the addition of a ring, clasp, ribbon or cord, glued to a large paper clip or bookmark, or simply embroidered onto something that needs beautiful embellishments! Parts of the designs can be colored pencil tinted, but are mostly filled with embroidery.

The Creative Grids® 45mm Rotary Cutter is in Stock!

The “weight” is over! Everything is now in stock. The Creative Grids® 45mm rotary cutter is designed with you in mind. The sleek red metal body adds weight to the cutter so less pressure is required when cutting fabric. The cushioned, comfort grip is designed to fit your hand, reducing slips and muscle fatigue.

When the button is in the center, the guard fully protects the blade when not in use. Move the button a quarter circle to the left or right to expose the blade for right and left handed users. The exposed blade is specifically designed to extend beyond the guard to work with the Creative Grids® slotted rulers.

To replace the blade, simply pull down on the tab to release it and add a new blade – a one step process.

Minis with that Awe Factor

In Make It Mini, Beverley McCullough has designed 13 small quilts with a splash of embroidery that are sure to make you smile.

The projects within the book are just as sweet. I love the way she continued the hexie design into the background.

The center would be a great place to embroider a birth announcement.

Wool with a Modern Look

Pineapple Popouts

The pineapple popout series showcases a new technique. The center pineapple block is made with the Creative Grids® Mini Pineapple Trim Tool (#CGRJAW3MINI) with rounds that finish at ½-inch. Additional rounds are added and trimmed with the Creative Grids® Pineapple Trim Tool (#CGRJAW3) to create 1-inch finished rounds. Click here to see a video showing this technique.

In this table runner from Cut Loose Press™, (Pineapple Popout #CLPJAW085) the colors are reversed in alternate blocks to enhance the dimensional effect. Since the corners of the block are pieced from the same fabric as the borders, the pineapples seem to float across the table. Since each round is trimmed after cutting, sewing and pressing, the results are perfect every time.

In this quilt from Cut Loose Press™, (Pineapple Popout Spice #CLPJAW079) the colors are reversed in each set of coordinated prints to enhance the dimensional effect. The scrappy border and binding add a modern feel to this stunning quilt. And since each round is trimmed after cutting, sewing and pressing, the results are perfect every time.

Tip: Eliminate the math by cutting the strips using the line down the center of any of the Creative Grids® 2-1/2-inch wide rectangles. Use the line down the center of any of the Creative Grids® 3-1/2 inch wide rectangles to cut the strips for the outer rounds.

Welcome Spring with Pen & Paper

Lindsey Neill of Pen and Paper Patterns combines strawberries and their blossoms in this darling quilt that screams summer! I made strawberry freezer jam this weekend so this is especially timely for me. But, seriously, how could anyone resist?
