This is such a great product that I can’t believe I missed it – or all of the different ways I can incorporate it into my projects! Helen Stubbings of Hugs ‘n Kisses has thought of everything!

Helen Stubbins says: Applique paper is a revolutionary product to use for perfect turned edge Applique. It is semi water soluble, semi transparent, has a light fusible on one side and can be used in many techniques. Use for: Glue stick applique, needle turn applique, English paper piecing, foundation paper piecing and as a temporary stabilizer.

How great is this for labeling your quilts? I cut out a heart and ironed it to the wrong side of a fabric. I used a glue stick to turn the outside edges. Then I used a pigma pen to do the labeling and stitched it to the back of the quilt! Done!

It is pliant right out of the package but maintains its shape when the glue is applied. Helen of Hugs and Kisses is also known for her English paper-piecing so she also offers several sizes of hexagons, etc. so you don’t have to cut them – or remove the templates later!

As I am writing this, it is snowing outside. When I saw this snowdrops pattern by Fig Tree & Co, it made me smile and reminded me that we should be seeing these sweet harbingers of Spring next month – and I am sooooo ready!

Every possible variation of every possible fruit went into the mix. Apples, pears, cherries, blueberries, oranges and lemons all made the final cut and became quilts for this summertime compilation of fruit goodness. Five of the patterns are created to be interchangeable to mix and match into true fruit salad quilts. Alison Glass and Friends at their Best

Co-authored with Nydia Kenhle, Feathers is based on a fabric from the first Sun Print fabric collection, it is a classic AG block design with a lot of possibilities. This new version includes a gallery of quilts to illustrate options and provide inspiration. Feathers uses the foundation paper piecing method to create the blocks. It includes fourteen block templates and detailed instructions with full color illustrations.

Be My Valentine

Maria used Scrap Tape from The Gypsy Quilter® to add a scrappy border.

Scrap Tape is a wash away foundation that stabilizes the grain line of your fabric until it is sewn into your finished project. Make unique 5- inch strips using fabric scraps, using a stitch and flip method, then trim to size. Since Scrap Tape washes away with water, do not use steam or a starch/starch alternative while constructing your strips. Wash the stabilizer away AFTER the project is complete. One package includes 25 yards of 5in wide Scrap Tape.
