Scrappy Quilts from Cut Loose Press®

Deb Heatherly has released several patterns that are scrap-friendly. These patterns are created with simple, beginner friendly techniques and don’t require any specialty tools.

Stars Over Franklin is a great scrap quilt! Just (16) 2-1/2-inch strips create the star points in this quilt and give it that scrappy look. Add your favorite accent fabric, in Deb’s case, gold, background and borders to complete this generous 70 x 70-inch quilt. It is the perfect quilt to learn how to use the Creative Grids® Folded Corner Clipper or Corner Clipper XL for more than bindings. The instructions include an alternate method, however, so it is not required.

Just (34) 10-inch squares is all you need to create this generous 61 x 70-inch quilt. It also is an opportunity to use the Creative Grids® Folded Corner Clipper or Corner Clipper XL for more than bindings. All you need to add is the four B’s: background, borders, binding and backing.

Just 12 fat quarters or 3 yards of scraps, plus the borders, binding and backing is all you need to create this stunning quilt.

Deb lives in the Great Smoky Mountains and says that in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, this was called a postcard quilt because quilters used a postcard for the template to cut the pieces for this quilt. Don’t you love that little bit of history? Incorporating these units into the middle border adds the perfect finishing touch!

The Creative Grids® 3 ½” wide rulers make cutting these pieces easy as pie! That ruler comes in three different lengths: 12 1/2″; 18 1/2″ and 24 1/2″.

Everything is in stock so place your orders now.

New Block of the Month from Crabapple Hill

Ready for a new Halloween Block of the Month? Meg has you covered! Her descriptions are almost as clever as the blocks:

BLOCK #1

We’ve waited all year for the annual Witch’s Faire! As soon as you walk into the clearing, you’ll pass by the Pumpkin Scarecrow. Every year it seems larger! This pattern is the first of the Witch’s Faire Block of the Month Series and contains the assembly directions for the entire quilt along with the first embroidered block. Colored pencil tinting and very simple embroidery along with very easy quilt piecing make this an easy stitch! There are appliqued pennant banners at the top of the quilt, and you can use your favorite method to apply them. Have fun at the Faire!

Block #2:

Let me introduce you to Finoozala Groop! She was crowned the Queen of Halloween at this year’s Halloween Faire. It may have gone to her head a bit? Finoozala is the proud owner of Groop’s Spider Emporium in Hocuspocusville. If you need quality spiders, she has everything from single horrific ones… to the ever-popular bulk packages of 144 somewhat mediocre specimens. Infest your house in style at Groops!… YIKES, my worst nightmare!

Both should arrive any day, just in time for your new class line-up!
