Bowl Cozy Template Set

Creative Grids® has joined forces with The Gypsy Quilter® to make it even easier to mass-produce one of their all-time favorite products, the bowl cozies. This nested set includes both sizes of bowls. The small bowl cozy template works with the precut bowl cozy batting (TGQ036), and the other template with the large (TGQ103). If you prefer to cut your own batting, we recommend The Gypsy Quilter® cotton batting (TGQHECB12 or TGQHECB18) which is microwave safe.

Just two squares of batting and two squares of fabric make one cozy. Simply fold the fabric in quarters and rotary cut around the template. It doesn’t get any easier than that! A complete set of instructions is included with the templates.

Note: Since the finished product is intended to be used in a microwave, you MUST use 100% cotton thread, batting and non-metallic fabric.

It is the perfect choice for quilt-as-you-go projects, placemats and table runners. There are 10 yards on a roll, so you can complete multiple projects with just one roll. Since it is needle punched, it can be quilted a maximum of eight inches between quilting lines. Weighing 4-oz. per square yard, it has just enough body to add dimension to your project. This batting is microwave-safe in 2-minute increments, up to 6 minutes, when you use 100% cotton thread and fabric.

This Color-Blocked Bowl Cozy from Cut Loose Press™ is created with the Gypsy Quilter® Large Bowl Cozy Pre-Cut Batting which is microwave safe. All you need is 1/3-yard of two coordinating fabrics and a few hours of your time. Both sides of the cozy are cut from an over-sized quarter-square triangle block, the perfect choice to accent the quarters of the bowl.

The pattern is written for one cozy, but since the pre-cuts include enough batting to make four, you may want to make them all for gifts! To make all four, you need just 1 yard of two coordinating fabrics. Invite friends or teach a class. They will love going home with a finished project.

Vintage Notions

Amy Barickman is re-releasing her Vintage Notions book which was inspired by a correspondence school in Scranton, Pennsylvania. This school existed over 100 years ago!

Zoid – The Cutting Edge

Zoid offers a full line of cutting tools: rotary cutters, blades, mats and rulers – all in their signature blue.

Kai in Color

Kai is now offering three varities of scissors in Teal.

The KAI 5165 – 6 1/2″ scissor is a versatile sewing scissor that is ideal for general trimming on fabrics of all weights. It is great for tasks such as cutting fusible appliqué pieces and trimming seam allowances.

The KAI V5210T – 8″ scissors has ergonomically soft handles which allow fatigue-free cutting on all types of fabric. Cuts multiple layers of denim with ease while trimming cottons without any fabric slippage. The KAI V5210T is the standard size handle and blade length.

It is the same as the N5210, except the handles on the V5210T are Teal and include a blade cover for safe storage

The KAI V5135T – 5 1/2″ scissor has ergonomically soft handles which allow fatigue-free cutting on all types of fabric. Cuts multiple layers of denim with ease while trimming cottons without any fabric slippage. The KAI V5135T has the standard 5000 series blades.

Orange Blossoms Made Easy

I saw this quilt demonstrated at QuiltCon and was so fascinated by the technique, that I came home and showed everybody I knew!

Now it is even easier because you can buy a package of the freezer paper templates! Honestly, these are not due to arrive until the middle of this month so I haven’t actually had one of these in my hot little hands. But it looks like the quality is there and this is a notion that will last a lifetime.

Skinny Pineapple not a Diet

Create perfect 6, 9, or 12-inch finished Pineapple blocks by squaring up each round of strips as they are sewn. Since each round is squared up before the next set is added, the blocks are perfectly square. The cutting requirements for the strips and center square are printed right on the tool.

The widths of the logs finish to 3/4-inch so even a six-inch block looks impressive. Add two more rounds to complete a 9-inch finished pineapple. Add two more rounds to complete a 12-inch finished block. It really is that easy, and accurate.

There are five new Cut Loose Press™ patterns to support this tool.

Pineapple Pinwheel combines two favorite blocks, pinwheels and pineapples The pinwheels are created by piecing the corner triangles before the final block trim. When four blocks are sewn together, the secondary pinwheel pattern is formed. Magic!

Pineapple Puzzle utilizes this Tool to its full potential. This pattern combines 6-inch and 12-inch finished blocks to create the puzzle design. There are special markings on the tool to guarantee that the 6-inch finished block is trimmed to the exact right size. What a great way to learn how to use the tool!

Gumdrops uses the Tool to make 6-inch finished blocks with 3/4-inch finished logs. The proportions of this baby quilt are perfect. Cut a variety of pastel strips from fat quarters to achieve a scrappy look. Then sew just twenty-four 6-inch blocks together to complete the center.

Pineapple Smoothies is an oversized throw that accentuates the pineapple pattern by using the same fabric for odd-numbered rounds. The even-numbered rounds are cut from a variety of fat quarters to achieve that rainbow sherbet look.

Quilt Block Markers

Stitchy Sticks

The Stitchy Sticks 3-piece Set from The Gypsy Quilter® has 6 main features to aid in general sewing and quilting, hand and machine appliqué, fabric turning, English paper-piecing and vinyl crafting, stuffing and more.

1. Stiletto: Use it to guide fabric while at the sewing machine- to keep fingers a safe distance away from the sewing machine needle. Gently guide fabric through the presser foot when sewing both straight and curved seams. Keep fingers safe from the heat of a hot iron. Poke out corners of sewn fabric. Push stuffing into tiny spaces. Hold small seam allowances in place while under-stitching. Precisely place layers of fabric and line up edges.

2. Blunted Ball Tip: Use to position template pieces or small pieces of fabric at the iron, rather than using your finger. Use in combination with the turning tube to turn fabric. Use to turn straight sides of appliques.

3. Tapered Finger: Use to assist in opening seams. Use to finger press seams. Use to wrap fabric around templates. Assists in specific placement of applique. Use to hold glued pieces in place.

4. Spatula: Use to pry starched fabric or fused fabric off the pressing surface. Use to score release papers when working with Fusible interfacing and stabilizers. Use to remove English Paper- Piecing papers, foundation papers or other backing papers after stitching is complete.

5. Turning Tube- To assist in turning fabric when paired with the blunt ball tip.

6. Body of the tools- the squared handle measures 1/4 inch on each side. Use a pencil to draw a 1/4 inch seam allowance beyond the edge of the template. The flat sides stop the tools from rolling off the working surface.
