Silicone Coasters

Lisa Amundson of Around the Bobbin scored a home run last Market with the release of her Hot Stuff Oven Mitt. The pattern includes the silicon.

But, who can make just one so refills are available.

Her new pattern – Coaster Ride – includes enough silicon to make four coasters along with the pattern to make the cute little container.

And, yes – refills are available!

Crazy Christmas Tree Farm

I love the Crazy Christmas Tree! It has three of my favorite things – it is fast, fun, and the perfect gift! I have made and taught this multiple times in a multitude of fabrics. Use two backgrounds, two tree colors, the same tree color, or eight different colors. The truth is I never saw a tree that I didn’t like!

Therefore, I was thrilled to see that Karla Alexander has expanded on this technique to make an entire quilt! The Tree Farm uses groups of color to create a stunning quilt. The backgrounds of one tree create a tree in another block! The lights and darks are simply stunning!

This quilt measures 52″ x 66″ so a Shannon Cuddle at 60″ wide is the perfect backing!

Both patterns take the Creative Grids Spiderweb tool so you get more bang for your buck! Order them now so you can start your quilt as soon as the pattern arrives and have it done in plenty of time for Christmas! The really is a day project!

Celebrate Every Holiday

Janine Babich has designed a whole series of”Made in the Hoop” designs. (The three rectangular shapes require a 5 3/4″ x 8″ hoop). What a great display! I’m All Ears – Bunny Ears

These bunnies are so cute and easy, they can still be made in time for Easter – but will add a touch of whimsy throughout Spring.

I’m All Ears uses just two fat eighths and would be the perfect project for an impromptu Make It Take It class over Spring break. Have plenty of coordinating fat eighths on hand. Display the template plastic next to the patterns because who can stop at just one? These sheets come two to a pack and are less than $3.00 a pack – well worth the investment!

Have some friends over and start an assembly line. You will have dozens in no time. After the big day, use them in lunch boxes. Or who said that egg hunts – or in this case bunny – hunts can only be one day a year?

Whimsical Snowmen

Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs is releasing a new applique quilt next month that would make a perfect Block of the Month!

It’s all about the details – and the details make this quilt sing! Just check it out!

There is even an embellishment pack so you don’t have to look for all of those cute buttons that are just the right size! Start it now and it will be done in time for Winter – next Winter that is!

Tis the Season for Trees

Tis the season for evergreens – and this is reflected in our top 100 patterns! All of these trees made the list!

Crazy Christmas Trees from Cut Loose Press™ is the perfect family craft project! None of the seams have to match so seam allowances aren’t really an issue. I’m making this with my grandchildren this weekend!

These paper-pieced trees come in two sizes. The smaller version is the perfect door decoration for an Advent tree for your favorite little ones.

Crazy Trees

I love this!  In fact, I love this so much that I am teaching it this weekend!

This is a Karla Alexander design – and is SO her! A little wacky, a little wonky, and a whole lot of fun! This combines every aspect of a great pattern:

  • It looks hard but is so easy and so forgiving – anyone can do it!
  • It takes just eight 10 inch squares and eight 11″ x 14″ rectangles of background so it is easy to kit.
  • It makes a great demo.
  • AND, it is a Cut Loose Press™ pattern so it is affordable. Crazy Christmas Trees #CLPKAL009

It uses her ruler. Creative Grids® Spider Web Quilt Ruler #CGRKA6

Saturday I am making this in Fall colors – but kitting it for Christmas as well. After all, who can stop at just one! An added bonus? This runner is 17 1/2″ x 40 1/2″ so if I make four of these, I have a great throw!

Six Halves Make a Whole

Susan Knapp of The Quilt Branch has been thinking of Christmas and designed three patterns in her six halves make a whole series. These are great patterns to kit – simply cut six coordinating half yard cuts. Any kits left? Simply cut them into fat quarters!  It can’t get any easier than that!

All of these patterns feature her House Ruler by Creative Grids®.

Tree skirts are great Christmas gifts – just start the season early by giving them out after Thanksgiving dinner!  To see all of the “six halves make a whole” series, visit our website:  The Quilt Branch.  These patterns are expected any day so order them now!
