Bias Tape the Easy Way

I met this woman at Market and was so impressed with her demonstration that I kept grabbing people and having them watch her as well. Do yourself a favor and buy the book. The tools are great but to truly use them to their full potential, you need to see what Pauline does with them.

As you can see, there are several package options so you can choose the sizes that are most conducive to your quilting needs. Pauline uses them to insert into decorative bindings, her own method of quilt as you go, as well as more traditional uses. These tools make easy work of the process. Visit our website to see all of the possibilities.

Thirties Prints in a Charming Setting

Judie Rothermel’s new collection, Basket of Scraps by Marcus Brothers. is featured in an upcoming book by It’s Sew Emma.

This Block of the Month style quilt book is due to arrive next month – perfect timing to wash away those Winter blues.

The setting stars which frame the blocks are simply stunning. The quilt can be made in two sizes – queen and king – so you can finally make a quilt to fit your bed. And, since it is a block of the month, it can be pieced a little at a time so they have removed the intimidation factor.

Here is just a sampling of this fabric line which is due to arrive later this month:

Conversational prints combined with mini coordinates – and a check threw in (which would be an awesome binding) – who could ask for anything more???

Quilts of Iceland

In this inspirational, full-color book, Gudrun Erla of GE Designs pays homage to her homeland. She has taken several quilters on tours of Iceland and shared the beauty and hospitality of this country.

As she toured the country with fellow quilters, she photographed her favorite places and the quilts that inspired them. The pictures literally jump off of the page! Patches of Blue in Laundry Basket Style

Edyta Sitar’s newest book is scheduled for a November arrival – just in time for holiday open houses.  Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words and I just need to share the wealth!  I just saw glimpses of the inside today.

Tula Pink is a bright and shining star. She is on the forefront of every trend in the industry – and in this case, creates them! Her new book – Coloring with Thread is due out before Christmas. Check this out:

I see inspirations of crewelwork, cross-stitch, and traditional embroidery but in Tula’s hands, it becomes a whole new art form that will inspire a new generation. I can’t wait for this one!

The Newest from Stash Lab Quilts

Tonya Alexander from Stash Lab Quilts has been on my radar since her book – Stash Lab was released. So, I was thrilled to see that she is releasing four new patterns just in time for Market.

Diamonds in the Rough includes instructions for two sizes of quilts. Don’t you love this modern version of the classic 1,000 pyramids? Pressed Leaves is a traditional pattern that looks so modern with a newsprint type background.

I love appliique – and love this modern take on it in Blue Dahlia. Once again there are instructions for two sizes and fusible options. Cavanaugh Crossroads can be made with scrappy backgrounds or tone it down with just one (but don’t you love the scrappy version)? Bonus? It is fat quarter friendly!

Stash Lab is still available – and gives a modern take on scrap quilts.

This gal is talented. I can’t wait to see what she does next!

Simply Redwork

Helen Stubbings adds a sense of whimsy to all of her designs and the designs in her award winning book are sure to become classics.

Look at these purses and totes!  The all over daisy design blew me away!

This is just a small sampling of the 19 projects that are in the book.  Many can be completed in an evening.  Helen includes clear instructions and stitch guides which can be learned in a matter of minutes.

What is not to love?
