The pattern Includes instructions & full-sized pieces to make three fun Christmas ornaments and one Christmas tree light bulb style of place mats, each with an elastic loop to hold a napkin or treats. Dress them up by fabric choices or use whimsical fabric for the youngsters’ table. The pattern also includes ideas and instructions for use as table runners and table toppers for the holidays.

Wouldn’t these be the perfect choice when serving birthday cake, or any cake for that matter!

The newest creation from Tula Pink is packaged in two different ways. Alchemy is available as a pattern with approximately half of the paper-piecing templates needed to make the quilt. (The templates can be reused.) Or if you like to turn everything in the beginning, choose the pattern and templates for the entire quilt. The Acrylic Template is sold separately.

Nancy’s projects always make me smile. She is so creative when it comes to creating programs for shops and quilters as well. I love this latest idea. She will be releasing 6 new booklets next month and six more in the Fall. Each booklet includes a portion of a quilt that can be combined into a completed block of the month quilt. But this is the genius of Nancy! Each booklet includes smaller projects that can be companions to the finished quilt. Or, quilters can choose to make the smaller projects instead! Talk about getting the most bang for your buck!

Quilts through a Child’s Eyes

I already have two on order for my grandchildren! Read the premise of the story:

Ghosts are supposed to be sheets, light as air and able to whirl and twirl and float and soar. But the little ghost who is a quilt can’t whirl or twirl at all, and when he flies, he gets very hot. He doesn’t know why he’s a quilt. His parents are both sheets, and so are all of his friends. His great-grandmother was a lace curtain, but that doesn’t really help cheer him up. He feels sad and left out when his friends are zooming around and he can’t keep up. But one Halloween, everything changes. The little ghost who was a quilt has an experience that no other ghost could have, an experience that only happens because he’s a quilt . . . and he realizes that it’s OK to be different.
